URGCP (Upregulator of Cell Proliferation Gastric Cancer-associated) antibody is a tool used to detect the URGCP protein, which is encoded by the URGCP gene. This gene, located on human chromosome 7. was initially identified for its overexpression in gastric cancer tissues. Studies suggest URGCP plays a role in promoting cell proliferation, survival, and tumor progression by modulating key signaling pathways, including Wnt/β-catenin and PI3K/AKT. Its upregulation correlates with poor prognosis in multiple cancers, including gastric, liver, and breast cancers.

The URGCP antibody is primarily utilized in research to investigate protein expression levels in cancer cells via techniques like Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, or immunofluorescence. It helps elucidate URGCP's interaction networks, subcellular localization, and functional mechanisms in oncogenesis. Recent studies also explore its involvement in drug resistance and metastasis.
