The NUDT8 antibody is a research tool designed to detect and study NUDT8 (Nudix Hydrolase 8), a member of the NUDIX enzyme family involved in cellular metabolism and homeostasis. NUDT8. also known as ADP-ribose pyrophosphatase, hydrolyzes specific nucleotide derivatives like ADP-ribose, a signaling molecule generated during oxidative stress or DNA repair. This enzyme plays a role in regulating intracellular levels of metabolites that could otherwise interfere with cellular processes. Structurally, NUDT8 contains a conserved NUDIX motif critical for its catalytic activity, which depends on magnesium or manganese ions.

Antibodies against NUDT8 enable researchers to investigate its expression, localization, and function in various tissues and disease models. They are widely used in techniques such as Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence to study NUDT8’s role in oxidative stress response, mitochondrial function, and pathologies like cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, or metabolic syndromes.
