ADAMTS8 belongs to the ADAMTS family, characterized by a conserved structure including a propeptide, metalloproteinase, disintegrin-like, and thrombospondin type-1 repeat (TSR) domains. It plays roles in angiogenesis inhibition, tumor suppression, and tissue repair by cleaving ECM components like aggrecan and versican. Dysregulation of ADAMTS8 is linked to cancer progression, cardiovascular diseases, and fibrosis, making it a target for therapeutic and diagnostic research.

ADAMTS8 antibodies are typically generated against specific epitopes, such as peptide sequences within its catalytic or TSR domains, using recombinant proteins or synthetic peptides as immunogens.
