TRPV6 (Transient Receptor Potential Vanilloid 6) is a calcium-selective ion channel primarily involved in calcium absorption and homeostasis, predominantly expressed in epithelial tissues of the intestine, kidney, and placenta. It plays a critical role in dietary calcium uptake, hormone-regulated calcium reabsorption, and maternal-fetal calcium transport. Dysregulation of TRPV6 has been implicated in pathologies such as cancer (e.g., prostate, breast, and thyroid cancers), osteoporosis, and metabolic disorders, making it a target for therapeutic and diagnostic research.

TRPV6 antibodies are essential tools for studying the channel's expression, localization, and function. These antibodies are designed to recognize specific epitopes on TRPV6. enabling applications like Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence. High specificity is crucial due to structural similarities with other TRP channels, particularly TRPV5.
