The BRMS1 (Breast Cancer Metastasis Suppressor 1) antibody is a research tool used to detect the BRMS1 protein, a key player in regulating cancer metastasis. BRMS1. first identified as a metastasis suppressor in breast cancer, is part of the mSin3-histone deacetylase (HDAC) complex, which modulates gene expression by altering chromatin structure. It suppresses metastasis by downregulating pro-metastatic genes (e.g., osteopontin, uPAR) while upregulating metastasis-inhibiting pathways, impacting cell-cell communication, invasion, and angiogenesis. BRMS1 is implicated in multiple cancers, including breast, lung, and melanoma, where its reduced expression correlates with metastatic potential and poor prognosis.

The BRMS1 antibody enables researchers to study protein localization, expression levels, and interactions in cellular and tissue samples via techniques like Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence. Its applications extend to exploring BRMS1’s role in metastasis suppression, therapeutic resistance, and molecular mechanisms involving HDAC activity or NF-κB signaling.
