The RPS6KB2 antibody is a research tool designed to detect ribosomal protein S6 kinase beta-2 (RPS6KB2), a serine/threonine kinase involved in cell growth, proliferation, and metabolism. RPS6KB2. also known as S6K2. is a downstream effector of the mTORC1 (mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1) signaling pathway. It shares structural and functional similarities with its isoform RPS6KB1 (S6K1) but exhibits distinct tissue-specific expression patterns, with higher abundance in skeletal muscle and certain cancer types. Upon activation by phosphorylation (e.g., at Thr388), RPS6KB2 regulates protein synthesis by phosphorylating ribosomal proteins and translation factors. Dysregulation of RPS6KB2 has been implicated in diseases such as cancer, diabetes, and obesity, making it a potential therapeutic target.

RPS6KB2 antibodies are widely used in biomedical research to study protein expression, localization, and activation status in cell lines, tissues, or animal models. They are critical for techniques like Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence.
