The LONP1 antibody is a research tool designed to detect and study the mitochondrial protease Lon protease homolog (LONP1), a critical enzyme involved in maintaining protein homeostasis within mitochondria. LONP1. also known as Lon protease 1. is an ATP-dependent protease that degrades misfolded, oxidized, or damaged proteins in the mitochondrial matrix. It plays essential roles in mitochondrial quality control, stress response, and regulation of metabolic pathways. Dysregulation of LONP1 has been linked to various diseases, including cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and age-related mitochondrial dysfunction.

Antibodies targeting LONP1 are widely used in biomedical research to investigate its expression, localization, and functional interactions. These antibodies enable techniques such as Western blotting (WB), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry (IHC) to assess LONP1 levels in tissues or cultured cells under different physiological or pathological conditions.
