IMPDH1 (Inosine-5'-monophosphate dehydrogenase type 1) is a critical enzyme in the de novo biosynthesis of guanine nucleotides, catalyzing the oxidation of IMP to XMP—a rate-limiting step in purine metabolism. It exists as two isoforms (IMPDH1 and IMPDH2) with distinct tissue expression patterns. IMPDH1 is constitutively expressed in most tissues, while IMPDH2 is induced during cell proliferation. Antibodies targeting IMPDH1 are widely used to study its expression, localization, and regulatory roles in cellular processes like proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis.

IMPDH1 antibodies (monoclonal or polyclonal) are essential tools for detecting the protein via techniques such as Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence. Researchers often validate antibody specificity using IMPDH1-knockout cell lines or siRNA-mediated knockdown.
