The TUBGCP2 antibody is a research tool designed to detect the TUBGCP2 protein, a key component of the gamma-tubulin ring complex (γ-TuRC) in eukaryotic cells. γ-TuRC serves as a structural template for microtubule nucleation, a process critical for organizing the mitotic spindle during cell division and maintaining cytoskeletal architecture. TUBGCP2 (tubulin gamma complex component 2), also known as GCP2. interacts with other GCP proteins to stabilize γ-TuRC and mediate its attachment to microtubule-organizing centers like centrosomes. This protein is essential for proper cell cycle progression, chromosome segregation, and intracellular transport.

Antibodies targeting TUBGCP2 are widely used in studies investigating microtubule dynamics, mitotic defects, and cellular responses to anti-mitotic drugs. They enable the detection of TUBGCP2 expression levels, localization, and interactions via techniques such as Western blotting, immunofluorescence, and immunoprecipitation.
