背景信息

PTGS1 (Prostaglandin-Endoperoxide Synthase 1), also known as cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1), is a constitutively expressed enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of arachidonic acid to prostaglandin H2. a precursor for various prostanoids involved in homeostatic functions. Unlike its inducible counterpart COX-2 (PTGS2), COX-1 is widely expressed in most tissues, playing roles in maintaining gastrointestinal mucosal integrity, platelet aggregation, and renal blood flow.
