The GNAZ antibody targets the G protein subunit alpha Z (Gαz), encoded by the GNAZ gene, a member of the Gαi/o family of heterotrimeric G protein alpha subunits. Gαz couples primarily to G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) and plays a role in intracellular signaling by modulating cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) levels through inhibition of adenylyl cyclase. Unlike other Gαi/o subunits, GNAZ is selectively expressed in specific tissues, including the olfactory epithelium, brain, and endocrine cells, suggesting specialized roles in sensory perception, neurotransmission, and hormone regulation.

GNAZ antibodies are critical tools for studying its expression, localization, and function in cellular and tissue contexts. They are widely used in techniques such as Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence to investigate GNAZ's involvement in physiological and pathological processes.
