NOP58 antibody is a research tool targeting the NOP58 protein, a core component of the C/D box small nucleolar ribonucleoprotein (C/D snoRNP) complex. This evolutionarily conserved complex plays a critical role in ribosomal RNA (rRNA) biogenesis by guiding site-specific 2'-O-methylation, a post-transcriptional modification essential for ribosome assembly and function. NOP58 interacts with other core proteins (e.g., fibrillarin, NOP56. and SNU13) and snoRNAs to form functional complexes that direct methylation to target rRNA sites.

As a molecular marker, NOP58 antibody is widely used in studies investigating nucleolar organization, ribosomopathies, and cellular stress responses. It helps detect NOP58 expression levels, subcellular localization (primarily nucleolar), and protein-protein interactions via techniques like Western blot, immunofluorescence, and immunoprecipitation.
