RITA1 (RBP-J interacting and tubulin-associated 1), also known as C12orf52. is a protein encoded by the human gene *C12orf52*. It was initially identified as a binding partner of RBP-J (recombination signal-binding protein for immunoglobulin kappa J region), a key transcription factor in the Notch signaling pathway. RITA1 is implicated in regulating Notch signaling by modulating the interaction between RBP-J and its co-activators or co-repressors, thereby influencing transcriptional activity. Beyond its role in Notch signaling, RITA1 associates with microtubules and is involved in mitotic spindle organization, suggesting a dual function in transcriptional regulation and cell cycle progression.

Antibodies targeting RITA1 have been developed to explore its cellular localization, protein-protein interactions, and mechanistic roles in both physiological and pathological contexts. These antibodies are critical tools for studies using techniques like Western blotting, immunofluorescence, and co-immunoprecipitation. Research has linked RITA1 to cancer biology, particularly in tumors where Notch signaling is dysregulated, such as T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) and breast cancer. Its involvement in mitosis also positions it as a potential biomarker or therapeutic target in malignancies with chromosomal instability.
