The MARCKSL1 (MARCKS-like 1) antibody is a tool used to study the MARCKSL1 protein, a member of the myristoylated alanine-rich C-kinase substrate (MARCKS) family. MARCKSL1. also known as MLP or MARCKS-related protein (MacMARCKS), shares structural homology with MARCKS, including a conserved N-terminal domain and a central phosphorylation site. It plays roles in cytoskeletal dynamics, membrane-vesicle trafficking, and cell motility by interacting with actin filaments and calmodulin. MARCKSL1 is implicated in developmental processes, immune responses, and pathological conditions such as cancer and neurological disorders.

Antibodies targeting MARCKSL1 are typically developed in hosts like rabbits or mice, using immunogens derived from specific epitopes (e.g., human MARCKSL1 N-terminal or phosphorylated regions). These antibodies are validated for applications such as Western blotting, immunofluorescence, and immunohistochemistry to detect protein expression, localization, and post-translational modifications.
