FARP2 (FERM, RhoGEF, and pleckstrin domain-containing protein 2) is a multidomain protein that functions as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) for Rho family GTPases, particularly CDC42 and Rac1. It plays a critical role in regulating cytoskeletal dynamics, cell migration, and neuronal development. The FARP2 protein contains a FERM domain (involved in membrane association), a DH/PH domain (responsible for GEF activity), and a pleckstrin homology (PH) domain that interacts with phosphoinositides, enabling spatial regulation of its activity.

FARP2 antibodies are immunological tools designed to detect and study the expression, localization, and function of FARP2 in various biological contexts. These antibodies are widely used in techniques like Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence. Research has highlighted FARP2's involvement in neuronal axon guidance, synapse formation, and cancer cell invasiveness. For example, FARP2 interacts with cell surface receptors like Plexin A1 to mediate semaphorin signaling, influencing cytoskeletal rearrangements during neural circuit development. Dysregulation of FARP2 has been implicated in neurological disorders and metastatic cancers, making its antibodies valuable for mechanistic and diagnostic investigations.
