SEC22B, a member of the SNARE (Soluble NSF Attachment Protein Receptor) protein family, plays a critical role in intracellular membrane trafficking. It mediates vesicle transport between the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and Golgi apparatus by forming a ternary SNARE complex with Syntaxin-18 and Use1. Additionally, SEC22B participates in unconventional secretion pathways and cross-talk between ER and endosomal/lysosomal compartments, influencing autophagy and immune antigen presentation.

Antibodies targeting SEC22B are essential tools for studying its expression, localization, and function. They are widely used in techniques like Western blotting, immunofluorescence, and immunoprecipitation to explore membrane trafficking dynamics, organelle interactions, and cellular responses to stress.
