CHCHD3 (Coiled-Coil-Helix-Coiled-Coil-Helix Domain Containing 3) is a mitochondrial protein belonging to the CHCHD family, characterized by twin CHCH domains that mediate protein-protein interactions and subcellular localization. Primarily located in the mitochondrial intermembrane space, CHCHD3 plays a critical role in maintaining cristae structure, mitochondrial membrane integrity, and oxidative phosphorylation. It interacts with the MICOS (mitochondrial contact site and cristae organizing system) complex, which governs mitochondrial morphology and function. Dysregulation of CHCHD3 has been linked to mitochondrial disorders, neurodegenerative diseases (e.g., Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s), and cancer due to its influence on apoptosis and metabolic reprogramming.

CHCHD3 antibodies are essential tools for studying its expression, localization, and molecular interactions. They are widely used in techniques like Western blotting, immunofluorescence, and immunohistochemistry to assess CHCHD3 levels in disease models or tissue samples. Specific antibodies help identify CHCHD3’s dual role in mitochondrial dynamics and nuclear signaling under stress conditions.
