CDC45 forms part of the CMG (CDC45-MCM-GINS) helicase complex, which unwinds DNA during replication initiation in eukaryotes. It interacts with minichromosome maintenance (MCM) proteins and GINS components to ensure proper replication fork movement and genome stability.

Research using CDC45 antibodies has elucidated its involvement in cell cycle checkpoints, replication stress responses, and developmental processes. These antibodies enable detection of CDC45 expression levels, localization, and interactions via techniques like Western blot, immunofluorescence, and co-immunoprecipitation.
