The CDADC1 antibody targets the protein encoded by the CDADC1 gene, also known as CMTM6 (CKLF-like MARVEL transmembrane domain-containing 6). CDADC1 is a member of the chemokine-like factor (CKLF) superfamily and plays a critical role in regulating immune responses, particularly through its interaction with the programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1). Research has shown that CDADC1 stabilizes PD-L1 on the cell surface by preventing its lysosomal degradation, thereby modulating PD-1/PD-L1-mediated immune checkpoint pathways. This mechanism has significant implications in cancer biology, as PD-L1 upregulation allows tumor cells to evade immune surveillance. CDADC1 antibodies are thus valuable tools for studying PD-L1 regulation, tumor microenvironments, and potential therapeutic strategies targeting immune evasion. They are widely used in techniques like Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry to detect CDADC1 expression levels and localization in various tissues and cancer types. Recent studies also explore CDADC1's roles beyond oncology, including its involvement in viral infection responses and autoimmune diseases. However, its full functional spectrum remains under investigation. As immune checkpoint therapies gain prominence, CDADC1 antibodies continue to support both basic research and drug development efforts aimed at enhancing antitumor immunity.
