The C2CD2 antibody is a research tool designed to target the C2 calcium-dependent domain-containing protein 2 (C2CD2), a protein implicated in cellular processes such as calcium signaling and membrane trafficking. C2CD2 is characterized by its C2 domain, which binds calcium ions and phospholipids, enabling its role in membrane-associated functions. Studies link C2CD2 to cilia-related pathways, particularly in the context of Joubert syndrome, a rare neurodevelopmental disorder associated with cerebellar and brainstem malformations. Mutations in the C2CD2 gene have been identified in patients with Joubert syndrome, suggesting its critical role in ciliogenesis and neuronal development.

Antibodies against C2CD2 are primarily utilized in biomedical research to investigate protein expression, localization, and interaction networks.
