The C17orf67 antibody is a research tool designed to detect the protein encoded by the C17orf67 gene (Chromosome 17 Open Reading Frame 67), a locus initially identified through genomic sequencing but with limited functional characterization. This gene, also known as CCDC47 (Coiled-Coil Domain Containing 47) in some databases, is ubiquitously expressed across human tissues and is implicated in cellular processes such as protein folding, calcium homeostasis, and endoplasmic reticulum (ER) function. The encoded protein is thought to interact with ER-resident chaperones, though its precise molecular mechanisms remain under investigation.

Antibodies targeting C17orf67 are typically produced in immunized host species (e.g., rabbits or mice) using peptide antigens derived from the protein's conserved regions.
