BBX (B-box transcription factor) antibodies are essential tools for studying the functional roles of BBX proteins, a family of zinc-finger transcription factors involved in diverse biological processes. Initially identified in the early 2000s, BBX proteins are characterized by conserved B-box domains that mediate protein-protein interactions and regulate transcriptional activity. They play critical roles in cellular processes such as circadian rhythm regulation, photomorphogenesis in plants, and immune responses. In humans, BBX proteins (e.g., BBX1-8) are increasingly linked to cancer progression, neurodegenerative diseases, and inflammatory disorders. For instance, BBX overexpression has been observed in certain cancers, influencing tumor proliferation and metastasis via pathways like Wnt/β-catenin or NF-κB.

BBX antibodies enable researchers to detect and quantify BBX protein expression in tissues or cell lines, facilitating studies on its subcellular localization, interaction partners, and post-translational modifications.
