The UTP11 antibody targets the UTP11 protein, a conserved component of the U3 small nucleolar ribonucleoprotein (snoRNP) complex involved in ribosomal RNA (rRNA) biogenesis. UTP11. also known as U3-55k, plays a critical role in the early stages of pre-rRNA processing, particularly in 18S rRNA maturation within the nucleolus. It facilitates the assembly of the small ribosomal subunit by interacting with other U3 snoRNP proteins and guiding chemical modifications or structural rearrangements of rRNA. Dysregulation of UTP11 has been linked to ribosomopathies and cancers, as impaired ribosome biogenesis can trigger cell cycle arrest or apoptosis. The UTP11 antibody is primarily used in research to study ribosome assembly mechanisms, nucleolar organization, and cellular stress responses. It enables detection of UTP11 expression via techniques like Western blotting, immunofluorescence, or immunoprecipitation, aiding in investigations of its localization, protein interactions, and functional roles in development, disease, or drug response.
