The DCAF1 (DDB1- and CUL4-associated factor 1) antibody is a tool used to study the DCAF1 protein, a key component of the CRL4 (Cullin-RING E3 ubiquitin ligase 4) complex. DCAF1. also known as VPRBP, functions as a substrate receptor that recruits specific proteins for ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation. This protein plays critical roles in diverse cellular processes, including DNA damage repair, cell cycle regulation, and epigenetic modulation. Dysregulation of DCAF1 is implicated in cancer, viral pathogenesis (e.g., HIV-1 Vpr interaction), and developmental disorders, making it a target for therapeutic research.

Antibodies against DCAF1 are essential for detecting its expression, localization, and interactions in experimental models. They are widely used in techniques like Western blotting, immunofluorescence, and co-immunoprecipitation to investigate DCAF1's role in disease mechanisms or its partnership with viral proteins. Commercial DCAF1 antibodies are typically validated for specificity across human, mouse, and rat samples.
