The PRTFDC1 (phosphoribosyl transferase domain-containing protein 1) antibody is a tool used to detect and study the PRTFDC1 protein, a less characterized member of the phosphoribosyltransferase (PRTase) family. PRTFDC1 shares structural homology with enzymes involved in nucleotide metabolism, particularly purine biosynthesis, though its exact biochemical function remains unclear. Research suggests its potential role in cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, and tumorigenesis. Aberrant expression of PRTFDC1 has been linked to several cancers, including oral squamous cell carcinoma and ovarian cancer, where it may act as an oncogene or tumor suppressor depending on context.

The PRTFDC1 antibody enables researchers to investigate the protein's expression patterns, subcellular localization, and interactions in normal and diseased tissues. It is commonly used in techniques like Western blotting, immunohistochemistry (IHC), and immunofluorescence (IF). Studies utilizing this antibody have revealed tissue-specific expression profiles, with higher levels observed in brain, muscle, and certain epithelial tissues. Recent work also explores its association with chemotherapy resistance and metabolic reprogramming in tumors.
