**SEPTIN4 Antibody Background**

SEPTIN4. a member of the septin family of GTP-binding proteins, plays critical roles in diverse cellular processes, including cytokinesis, cytoskeletal organization, vesicle trafficking, and apoptosis. It is encoded by the *SEPTIN4* gene (also known as *SEPT4* or *SEPTIN4*) and exists in multiple splice variants, with the two major isoforms being SEPTIN4-i1 (ARTS) and SEPTIN4-i2 (hCDCrel-2). These isoforms exhibit distinct subcellular localizations and functions, with ARTS predominantly localized to mitochondria and involved in apoptosis, while hCDCrel-2 associates with actin filaments and influences synaptic vesicle release.

SEPTIN4 antibodies are essential tools for detecting and studying the expression, localization, and functional roles of SEPTIN4 in both normal and pathological contexts. They are widely used in techniques such as Western blotting (WB), immunohistochemistry (IHC), and immunofluorescence (IF).
