The NSMCE3 antibody is a research tool designed to target the NSMCE3 protein (also known as SMC5 structural maintenance of chromosomes 5-6 complex subunit E3), a critical component of the SMC5/6 complex. This highly conserved protein complex plays essential roles in maintaining genomic stability, including DNA repair, replication fork restart, and chromosome segregation during cell division. NSMCE3. along with other subunits, contributes to the structural and functional integrity of the SMC5/6 complex, which is particularly vital for resolving DNA recombination intermediates and preventing aberrant chromosomal rearrangements.

Antibodies against NSMCE3 are widely used in molecular biology to study its expression, localization, and interactions within the SMC5/6 complex. They enable techniques like Western blotting, immunofluorescence, and immunoprecipitation to explore NSMCE3's role in DNA damage response pathways and its potential links to diseases such as cancer or genetic disorders.
