This process is vital for cellular energy production via oxidative phosphorylation. Dysregulation of COX11 or its associated pathways has been linked to mitochondrial disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, and cancer.

COX11 antibodies are widely used in research to investigate protein expression, localization, and interactions in mitochondrial studies.
