The DTWD1 (Distant Tryptophan Domain-containing Protein 1) antibody is a tool used to study the DTWD1 protein, a conserved eukaryotic protein implicated in RNA modification and translation regulation. DTWD1 contains a tryptophan-aspartate (WD) repeat domain, a structural motif often involved in protein-protein interactions. Research suggests DTWD1 interacts with the Elongator complex, a multi-subunit enzyme critical for tRNA wobble uridine modifications (e.g., 5-methoxycarbonylmethyluridine, mcm⁵U). These modifications ensure translational fidelity and efficiency by stabilizing tRNA structure and codon-anticodon pairing.
