VPS16 antibody targets the Vacuolar Protein Sorting 16 (VPS16) protein, a critical component of the Homotypic Fusion and Protein Sorting (HOPS) complex. This conserved multiprotein complex mediates membrane tethering and fusion in endolysosomal trafficking pathways. VPS16. along with other HOPS subunits (VPS11. VPS18. VPS33. VPS39. VPS41), plays a vital role in lysosome biogenesis, autophagosome-lysosome fusion, and endocytic cargo transport. Dysregulation of VPS16 is linked to lysosomal storage disorders, neurodegenerative diseases (e.g., Parkinson’s), and impaired cellular clearance mechanisms.

Researchers use VPS16 antibodies primarily to study intracellular membrane dynamics, lysosomal function, and autophagy in models ranging from yeast to mammalian cells. These antibodies enable detection of VPS16 expression levels, localization via immunofluorescence, and interaction analyses (e.g., co-immunoprecipitation).
