The Replication Protein A2 (RPA2) antibody is a tool used to detect and study RPA2. a critical subunit of the Replication Protein A (RPA) complex. RPA, a heterotrimeric complex comprising RPA1. RPA2. and RPA3. is essential for DNA metabolism, including replication, repair, and recombination. RPA2 plays a central role in stabilizing single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) during replication and repair, facilitating the recruitment of downstream repair proteins. Its phosphorylation at specific residues (e.g., Ser4/Ser8) regulates its function in DNA damage response and checkpoint signaling.

RPA2 antibodies are widely employed in techniques like Western blotting, immunofluorescence, and immunoprecipitation to assess RPA2 expression, localization, and post-translational modifications. These studies help elucidate cellular responses to DNA damage, replication stress, and genomic instability. Dysregulation of RPA2 is implicated in cancer progression, as altered RPA2 activity may promote tumorigenesis by enabling survival under replicative stress. Additionally, RPA2 is a target of autoantibodies in autoimmune disorders like systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), linking its dysfunction to immune dysregulation.
