Regulator of G-protein signaling 4 (RGS4) is a member of the RGS protein family, which plays a critical role in modulating G-protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) signaling pathways. RGS4 acts as a GTPase-activating protein (GAP) by accelerating the hydrolysis of GTP bound to the Gα subunit of heterotrimeric G-proteins, thereby terminating downstream signaling. This regulatory function influences diverse physiological processes, including neurotransmission, cardiovascular activity, and immune responses. Dysregulation of RGS4 has been implicated in neuropsychiatric disorders (e.g., schizophrenia, anxiety), cancer progression, and cardiovascular diseases.

RGS4 antibodies are essential tools for studying the expression, localization, and functional roles of RGS4 in both normal and pathological states. These antibodies are typically generated using immunogenic peptides or recombinant proteins corresponding to specific epitopes within RGS4. such as its conserved RGS domain or variable N-terminal region.
