The PTRH2 (Peptidyl-tRNA Hydrolase 2) antibody is a tool used to detect the PTRH2 protein, encoded by the *PTRH2* gene, which plays critical roles in mitochondrial function, cell proliferation, and apoptosis. PTRH2 is a conserved enzyme involved in hydrolyzing peptidyl-tRNA molecules, essential for recycling stalled translational complexes and maintaining protein synthesis fidelity. Mutations in *PTRH2* are linked to Perrault syndrome, a rare autosomal recessive disorder characterized by sensorineural hearing loss and ovarian dysfunction, underscoring its importance in neurological and reproductive health.
