**Background of PTPN3 Antibody**

PTPN3 (Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase Non-Receptor Type 3), also known as PTPH1. is a member of the protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family, which regulates critical cellular processes by dephosphorylating tyrosine residues on target proteins. PTPN3 is characterized by an N-terminal FERM (4.1. ezrin, radixin, moesin) domain, which facilitates membrane localization and protein-protein interactions, and a C-terminal catalytic phosphatase domain. It is implicated in diverse signaling pathways, including MAPK, EGFR, and JNK cascades, influencing cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis.

Dysregulation of PTPN3 has been linked to multiple diseases, particularly cancers. Studies suggest its role as both a tumor suppressor and oncogene, depending on cellular context. For example, PTPN3 loss or mutations are associated with hepatocellular carcinoma and gastric cancer, while its overexpression correlates with poor prognosis in non-small cell lung cancer. Additionally, PTPN3 interacts with viral proteins (e.g., HBV’s HBx and HPV’s E7), modulating viral replication and host cell transformation.
