PLS3 (plastin 3) is a calcium-binding actin-bundling protein encoded by the *PLS3* gene, primarily involved in regulating cytoskeletal dynamics. It stabilizes actin filaments, facilitating cellular processes like motility, adhesion, and intracellular transport. PLS3 gained attention due to its role as a genetic modifier in spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), where its overexpression can ameliorate symptoms in some patients, suggesting therapeutic potential. Additionally, PLS3 is implicated in cancer progression, particularly in metastasis, by enhancing invasive properties of tumor cells through actin remodeling.

PLS3 antibodies are tools used to detect and study the expression, localization, and function of the PLS3 protein in research and diagnostics.
