The PDLIM2 (PDZ and LIM domain protein 2) antibody is a tool used to detect the PDLIM2 protein, a multifunctional adaptor protein encoded by the *PDLIM2* gene in humans. PDLIM2 contains a PDZ domain, which mediates protein-protein interactions, and a LIM domain, involved in cytoskeletal organization and signal transduction. It plays roles in cell adhesion, migration, and transcriptional regulation by targeting transcription factors (e.g., NF-κB) to proteasomal degradation or specific subcellular compartments, thereby modulating inflammatory responses and oncogenic pathways.

PDLIM2 is implicated in various diseases, including cancer, where it exhibits dual roles as a tumor suppressor or promoter depending on context. It regulates metastasis in breast and prostate cancers but may promote survival in T-cell malignancies. In immunology, PDLIM2 modulates macrophage polarization and T-cell activation, linking it to autoimmune diseases and chronic inflammation. Its role in viral infections, such as HIV, has also been explored due to its interaction with viral proteins.

PDLIM2 antibodies are widely used in techniques like Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence to study protein expression, localization, and interactions. Commercial antibodies are typically raised in rabbits or mice, with specificity validated across research models.
