The OXSR1 (Oxidative Stress Responsive 1) antibody is a tool used to detect the OXSR1 protein, a serine/threonine kinase involved in cellular stress responses and ion transport regulation. OXSR1. also known as OSR1. is part of the STE20 kinase family and interacts with SPAK (STE20/SPS1-related proline-alanine-rich kinase) to modulate ion co-transporters like NKCC1/2. which are critical for maintaining electrolyte balance. This kinase is activated under oxidative stress or osmotic changes, often through phosphorylation by upstream WNK (With-No-Lysine) kinases, linking it to pathways that control blood pressure, neuronal function, and kidney homeostasis.

OXSR1 antibodies are widely used in research to study its expression, localization, and activation status in tissues or cell lines. They enable techniques like Western blotting, immunofluorescence, and immunohistochemistry, helping to elucidate OXSR1's role in diseases such as hypertension, neuropathologies, and renal disorders. Dysregulation of OXSR1/SPAK signaling is associated with abnormal ion transport in hypertension models, while its stress-responsive nature implicates it in neurodegenerative conditions.
