The OCIAD1 (Ovarian Carcinoma Immunoreactive Antigen Domain-Containing Protein 1) antibody is a tool used to study the OCIAD1 protein, a mitochondrial membrane-associated molecule implicated in cellular processes such as apoptosis, proliferation, and mitochondrial function. Initially identified in ovarian cancer, OCIAD1 is overexpressed in various malignancies, including breast, lung, and colorectal cancers, and is linked to tumor progression, metastasis, and chemoresistance. It also plays roles in mitochondrial complex III assembly and redox regulation.

OCIAD1 antibodies enable researchers to detect and quantify OCIAD1 expression in tissues or cell lines via techniques like Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence. These applications help investigate its subcellular localization, interaction partners, and mechanistic contributions to diseases. Notably, OCIAD1 dysregulation has been associated with neurodegenerative conditions like Alzheimer’s disease, where mitochondrial dysfunction is a hallmark.
