The NCF2 (Neutrophil Cytosolic Factor 2) antibody is primarily used to detect the NCF2 protein, a critical component of the NADPH oxidase complex in phagocytes. NCF2. encoded by the *NCF2* gene on chromosome 1q25. partners with NCF1 and NCF4 to form the cytosolic p67phox subunit. This complex facilitates reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, essential for microbial killing and immune regulation. Mutations in *NCF2* are linked to chronic granulomatous disease (CGD), a rare immunodeficiency characterized by impaired oxidative burst and recurrent infections.
