The MTF2 (Metal-Response Element-Binding Transcription Factor 2) antibody is a tool used to study the MTF2 protein, a critical regulator in epigenetic and transcriptional processes. MTF2. also known as PCL2 (Polycomb-like protein 2), functions as a component of the Polycomb Repressive Complex 2 (PRC2), which mediates gene silencing through histone H3 lysine 27 trimethylation (H3K27me3). It plays a key role in targeting PRC2 to specific genomic loci, ensuring precise regulation of developmental genes, stem cell differentiation, and cellular identity.

Research using MTF2 antibodies has highlighted its involvement in embryogenesis, hematopoiesis, and cancer.
