The IKBIP (Inhibitor of κB Interacting Protein) antibody is a tool used to study the IKBIP protein, which plays a regulatory role in the NF-κB signaling pathway. IKBIP interacts with inhibitor of κB (IκB) proteins, key regulators that sequester NF-κB transcription factors in the cytoplasm. Upon cellular stimulation (e.g., cytokines, pathogens), IκB undergoes phosphorylation and degradation, releasing NF-κB to activate pro-inflammatory and survival genes. IKBIP modulates this process by influencing IκB stability or interactions with the IKK (IκB kinase) complex, though its precise mechanisms remain under investigation.

IKBIP is implicated in diverse physiological and pathological contexts, including inflammation, cancer, and immune responses. Dysregulation of NF-κB signaling is linked to chronic inflammatory diseases, autoimmune disorders, and tumorigenesis, making IKBIP a potential biomarker or therapeutic target. The IKBIP antibody is utilized in techniques like Western blotting, immunoprecipitation, and immunofluorescence to detect protein expression, localization, and interaction partners.
