CAP2 (Cyclase-Associated Protein 2) is a conserved actin-regulating protein involved in cytoskeletal dynamics, cell motility, and signal transduction. It binds to both actin monomers and adenylate cyclase, playing dual roles in actin filament depolymerization and cAMP-related signaling pathways. CAP2 is widely expressed in tissues, with notable roles in neuronal development, cardiac function, and cancer progression. Antibodies targeting CAP2 have become crucial tools for investigating its cellular localization, expression patterns, and molecular interactions.

Research using CAP2 antibodies has revealed its involvement in diseases such as hepatocellular carcinoma, breast cancer, and neurological disorders. In cancer biology, CAP2 overexpression has been linked to enhanced tumor invasion and metastasis through actin remodeling mechanisms. Conversely, CAP2 deficiency has been associated with developmental defects in mouse models, particularly in brain and heart tissues.
