The ANXA13 antibody targets Annexin A13 (ANXA13), a member of the annexin protein family characterized by calcium-dependent membrane-binding properties. Annexins play roles in membrane organization, exocytosis, and intracellular signaling. ANXA13 is distinct for its tissue-specific expression, predominantly in the gastrointestinal tract, particularly in epithelial cells of the small intestine and colon. It is associated with vesicle trafficking and apical plasma membrane organization in polarized cells, suggesting a functional role in maintaining epithelial structure and secretion.

ANXA13 antibodies are essential tools for studying its expression, localization, and biological functions. They are widely used in techniques like Western blotting, immunohistochemistry (IHC), and immunofluorescence (IF) to investigate ANXA13's involvement in cellular processes or diseases. Research has linked ANXA13 to certain cancers, including colorectal and hepatocellular carcinomas, where its altered expression may correlate with tumor progression or metastasis. Additionally, ANXA13 has been implicated in rare genetic disorders, such as congenital sodium diarrhea, highlighting its importance in gastrointestinal physiology.

The development of specific ANXA13 antibodies has enabled deeper insights into its molecular interactions, including potential binding partners like cytoskeletal components or signaling molecules.
