IL12RB1 (Interleukin 12 Receptor Subunit Beta 1) is a key component of the interleukin-12 receptor complex, which plays a critical role in mediating immune responses. This transmembrane protein pairs with IL12RB2 to form the functional receptor for IL-12 and IL-23. cytokines involved in T-cell and natural killer (NK) cell activation. IL12RB1 is expressed on immune cells, including activated T cells, NK cells, and dendritic cells, and is essential for signaling pathways that drive Th1 differentiation, interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) production, and host defense against intracellular pathogens.

Antibodies targeting IL12RB1 are valuable tools for studying its expression, function, and involvement in diseases. They are used in research to block or modulate IL-12/IL-23 signaling, investigate autoimmune disorders (e.g., psoriasis, inflammatory bowel disease), and explore immunodeficiency conditions linked to IL12RB1 mutations. Such mutations are associated with susceptibility to mycobacterial infections and impaired cytokine responses. Therapeutic antibodies or antagonists against IL12RB1 have also been explored for treating autoimmune and inflammatory diseases by disrupting pro-inflammatory pathways.
