CCNF (Cyclin F) antibodies are essential tools in studying the regulatory mechanisms of the cell cycle, particularly during the G2/M phase transition. Cyclin F, encoded by the *CCNF* gene, is a member of the F-box protein family and a component of the Skp1-Cul1-F-box (SCF) ubiquitin ligase complex. Unlike classical cyclins, Cyclin F does not activate cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs) but instead controls cell cycle progression by targeting specific substrates for ubiquitination and proteasomal degradation. Key substrates include proteins involved in DNA replication, centrosome duplication, and mitotic progression, such as CDC6. CP110. and RRM2. Dysregulation of Cyclin F has been linked to genomic instability, cancer progression, and neurodegenerative disorders like amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

CCNF antibodies are widely used in research to detect Cyclin F expression levels, localization, and interactions via techniques like Western blotting, immunofluorescence, and immunoprecipitation. They help elucidate Cyclin F's role in maintaining genome integrity, its temporal regulation during the cell cycle, and its pathological implications. Recent studies also explore its potential as a therapeutic target, particularly in cancers with Cyclin F overexpression or mutations.
