**Background of GRIK1 Antibody**

The GRIK1 antibody targets the glutamate ionotropic receptor kainate type subunit 1 (GRIK1), a protein encoded by the *GRIK1* gene. GRIK1. also known as GluK1. is a critical subunit of kainate receptors (KARs), a subclass of ionotropic glutamate receptors (iGluRs) that mediate excitatory neurotransmission in the central nervous system (CNS). These receptors are ligand-gated ion channels activated by glutamate, the primary excitatory neurotransmitter, and play roles in synaptic plasticity, neuronal development, and signal modulation.
