The RPS28 antibody is a research tool designed to detect ribosomal protein S28 (RPS28), a component of the 40S subunit of eukaryotic ribosomes. RPS28 plays a critical role in ribosome biogenesis and mRNA translation, contributing to the structural stability of the small ribosomal subunit and ensuring proper protein synthesis. Dysregulation of RPS28 has been linked to ribosomal stress, developmental disorders, and diseases such as Diamond-Blackfan anemia (DBA), a rare bone marrow failure syndrome associated with mutations in ribosomal proteins.
