The FANCE antibody is designed to detect the Fanconi anemia complementation group E (FANCE) protein, a critical component of the Fanconi anemia (FA) DNA repair pathway. FANCE plays a pivotal role in maintaining genomic stability by facilitating the assembly and function of the FA core complex, a multi-protein complex essential for repairing DNA interstrand crosslinks (ICLs). This complex coordinates the monoubiquitination of FANCD2 and FANCI, a key step in recruiting downstream repair factors. Mutations in the FANCE gene disrupt this pathway, leading to Fanconi anemia, a rare recessive disorder characterized by bone marrow failure, congenital abnormalities, and heightened cancer susceptibility.

FANCE antibodies are widely used in research to study FA pathway mechanisms, protein interactions, and DNA damage responses. They enable detection of FANCE expression via techniques like Western blotting, immunofluorescence, and immunohistochemistry, aiding in the diagnosis of FA subtypes and functional studies in cellular models. Additionally, these antibodies contribute to exploring FANCE's role beyond FA, including its potential involvement in tumor suppression and chemotherapy resistance.
