The ESCO1 (Establishment of Sister Chromatid Cohesion N-Acetyltransferase 1) antibody is a research tool used to study the ESCO1 protein, a key component of the cohesin complex critical for genomic stability. ESCO1. an acetyltransferase, facilitates sister chromatid cohesion during DNA replication by acetylating the cohesin subunit SMC3. ensuring proper chromosome segregation in mitosis and meiosis. Dysregulation of ESCO1 is linked to developmental disorders, cancer, and chromosomal instability syndromes like Roberts syndrome.

ESCO1 antibodies are primarily employed in techniques such as Western blotting, immunofluorescence, and chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) to detect protein expression, localization, and interactions. They help investigate ESCO1's role in cell cycle regulation, DNA repair, and its crosstalk with other epigenetic modifiers. Recent studies also explore ESCO1's involvement in transcriptional regulation beyond cohesion, highlighting its broader impact on chromatin dynamics.
