The DRGX antibody targets the Dorsal Root Ganglion Homeobox Protein (DRGX), also known as PRRXL1. a transcription factor critical in sensory neuron development. Discovered for its specific expression in dorsal root ganglia (DRG), DRGX plays a role in regulating the differentiation and functional maturation of nociceptive neurons, which are essential for pain perception. It belongs to the PRRX family of homeobox proteins, which are involved in embryonic patterning and tissue-specific gene regulation. Research has shown that DRGX is selectively expressed in small-diameter DRG neurons, particularly those associated with nociception and thermosensation, making it a biomarker for studying pain pathways.

The DRGX antibody has become a valuable tool in neuroscience research, enabling the identification and characterization of DRGX-expressing neurons in both developmental and pathological contexts.
